LuminaRN, Inc. ("LuminaRN," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and otherwise process personal information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, communicate with us, create an account, use our applications or AI-powered career-development tools, participate in simulated interviews, purchase products or subscriptions, or otherwise use services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

1. Personal Information We Collect

A. Information you provide directly

• Contact information, such as name, email address, and other information you provide through a waitlist or contact form.
• Account information, such as login credentials, profile information, preferences, and account settings.
• Career and education information, such as resumes, cover letters, employment history, education, certifications, licenses, skills, specialty interests, job preferences, and application materials.
• Interview and coaching information, such as written interview answers, prompts, notes, feedback, practice results, transcripts, and other career-development content.
• Audio or video recordings, if you choose to use a feature that records a simulated interview or other interaction.
• Communications with LuminaRN, including customer-support messages, survey responses, testimonials, beta feedback, and product feedback.
• Purchase information, such as plan, transaction amount, billing status, and transaction identifiers. Payment-card details are intended to be processed by our payment processor rather than stored directly by LuminaRN.

B. Information collected automatically

• Device and browser information, including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, language, and approximate location derived from IP address.
• Usage information, including pages viewed, features used, clicks, session information, referral URLs, timestamps, interactions with the Services, and diagnostic logs.
• Cookie and similar-technology information used for essential functionality, security, preferences, analytics, and, if enabled, marketing or attribution.

C. Information from third parties

• Authentication or identity providers if you choose a third-party sign-in method.
• Payment processors such as Stripe, which may provide transaction status and limited billing-related information.
• Service providers, analytics providers, business partners, and integrations you choose to connect.
• Publicly available or licensed career and job information if used to support job-search or employer-information features.

2. Sensitive Information and Information You Should Not Provide

LuminaRN is designed for career-development information, not medical records or patient care. Do not provide protected health information, patient-identifying information, Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial-account credentials, or other highly sensitive information unless LuminaRN expressly requests it for a specific lawful purpose.

If you discuss clinical experiences in a resume or interview practice session, remove patient names and other identifying details. LuminaRN is not intended to be used as a HIPAA-compliant medical-record system.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

• provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the Services;
• create and manage accounts and waitlist entries;
• generate AI-assisted resume content, interview questions, simulated interview experiences, feedback, scoring, transcripts, summaries, and other requested outputs;
• process purchases, subscriptions, trials, refunds, and account status;
• communicate with you about the Services, support requests, transactions, security, policy updates, and administrative matters;
• send marketing communications where permitted by law and honor your communication preferences;
• analyze product usage, troubleshoot issues, measure performance, develop new features, and conduct research and analytics;
• detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, violations of our Terms, and other harmful activity;
• comply with law, legal process, and regulatory obligations; and
• protect the rights, property, safety, and integrity of LuminaRN, our users, and others.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Model Improvement

Certain features rely on artificial-intelligence providers or models to process prompts, resumes, interview responses, transcripts, or other content you submit. We may transmit the minimum information reasonably necessary to service providers that help us deliver those features.

LuminaRN will not use identifiable resumes, interview recordings, transcripts, or other User Content to train third-party foundation models without your affirmative consent. We may use aggregated, de-identified, or statistical information to understand usage and improve the Services where permitted by law.

5. Audio, Video, and Transcription

If you use a feature that records or transcribes audio or video, we will provide notice before recording begins. Recordings and transcripts may be processed to provide the requested simulation, feedback, scoring, coaching, quality assurance, security, and support. We retain this content as follows:

• Interview audio/video recordings — retained for up to 90 days after the interview session, unless you delete them sooner.
• Transcripts, scores, and feedback — retained while your account is active and for up to 90 days after account deletion, unless a longer period is required for legal, fraud-prevention, or security purposes.
• Backups — may persist for up to an additional 90 days before being overwritten or deleted.

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

• Service providers and processors that perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, data storage, security, analytics, customer support, email delivery, authentication, transcription, and AI processing.
• Payment processors, such as Stripe, to process transactions and manage billing.
• Professional advisors, such as attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, and consultants, where reasonably necessary.
• Business partners or integrations at your direction or when you choose to use a feature involving that third party.
• Government authorities, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
• A buyer, investor, lender, successor, or other relevant party in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
• Other parties when you direct us to share information or provide your consent.

We do not sell personal information for money. If our future practices involve activity that applicable privacy law defines as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising, we will provide any legally required notices and choices before or when required.

7. Payment Processing

Payments may be processed by Stripe or another third-party payment processor. LuminaRN does not intend to directly store full payment-card numbers. Payment processors collect and process payment information under their own privacy notices and contractual terms. We may receive limited transaction information, such as payment status, transaction identifiers, plan information, and the last four digits or brand of a payment card.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies to operate the Services, keep users signed in, remember preferences, prevent fraud, understand usage, measure performance, and, if enabled, support marketing or attribution.

You can control many cookies through your browser settings. If we use technologies that require opt-in consent or opt-out rights under applicable law, we will provide the required controls. See our Cookie Policy for details on the specific cookies this site uses.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfill transactions, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and accomplish the purposes described in this Policy. Retention periods may vary by data type. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

11. Your Choices

• Marketing emails — you may unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email. We may still send transactional or service-related messages.
• Account information — you may update certain account information through the Services or by contacting us.
• Cookies — you may adjust browser settings and, where provided, use our cookie-preference tools.
• Recording features — you may choose not to use optional audio/video recording features.
• Account deletion and privacy requests — you may contact us at privacy@joinluminarn.com to request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy right described below.

12. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to confirm whether we process your information, access it, correct inaccuracies, delete it, obtain a portable copy, or opt out of certain uses such as targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or certain profiling.

To submit a request, contact privacy@joinluminarn.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Where required by law, you may appeal our response by replying to our decision and stating that you wish to appeal.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Where required by applicable law, we will recognize valid opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for processing to which such signals legally apply.

13. California Notice

If and when LuminaRN becomes subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, California residents may have additional rights and disclosures regarding categories of personal information collected, sources, business purposes, categories of recipients, retention, and rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. LuminaRN does not currently state that it sells personal information for money.

14. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through account-based or paid Services. If you believe a minor has provided personal information in violation of this Policy, contact us at privacy@joinluminarn.com.

15. International Users

LuminaRN is currently intended primarily for users in the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.

16. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, employers, job boards, payment processors, authentication providers, analytics providers, AI providers, or other services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies.

17. Business Transfers

If LuminaRN is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last Updated" date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially changing how we use personal information previously collected.
